02.06.2025 15:47
The LOOP Zurich, together with the Comprehensive Cancer Center Zurich (CCCZ) and the Tumor Profiler Center (TPC), is supporting the establishment of a new research consortium for precision oncology in Zurich and is driving innovation in cancer medicine with a clear focus on clinical application.
The University Medicine Zurich (UMZH) is providing new funding for the period 2026–2029 to promote the targeted advancement of precision oncology. A key element of this initiative is the support of a new Zurich-based research consortium: the Zurich Precision Oncology Consortium, jointly backed by The LOOP Zurich, CCCZ and the Tumor Profiler Center.
The consortium aims to bring together expertise in oncology, medical technology, systems biology and data science. Its goal is to develop patient-oriented applications based on advanced technologies and high-dimensional data analysis – and to accelerate the translation of research findings into clinical practice.
Research teams from the University of Zurich, ETH Zurich, University Hospital Zurich, Balgrist University Hospital and the University Children’s Hospital Zurich are invited to apply through a competitive process. Project selection will be carried out by an internationally composed panel of experts. Funded projects will be announced in October 2025
