The LOOP Zurich Incubator Projects
Developing New Ideas
The LOOP Zurich Incubator Projects aim to advance precision medicine through collaborative research among Zurich's leading institutions. Incubator Projects are exploratory in nature and are intended to develop novel diagnostic, therapeutic, and/or technological approaches. They are designed to lay the groundwork for subsequent Translational Projects.
A key feature of these projects is their interdisciplinary focus, which requires collaboration between at least two of The LOOP Zurich’s partner institutions. Supporting early-career researchers is also a central priority: postdoctoral researchers take on leadership roles within the projects.
Funding for Incubator Projects is up to CHF 1 million for a period of up to three years and covers direct project costs, including personnel and research materials. The selection process for this project type places strong emphasis on medical relevance, scientific novelty, and the project’s benefit to Zurich’s biomedical ecosystem.
